Meet Oliver & Company: SE's Furry Felines

We have twelve indoor cats who are the absolute sweetest pets in the whole world. We've had others that have fallen asleep now, but we were blessed by every moment spent with them. Over the years we have had twelve kittens born in our house and rescued seven cats from various places outside and animal shelters.

SE's Felines: Oliver, Avis & Sydney

Each one of these precious kitties has their own distinctive personality, and we're very happy to introduce them to you. We've made a twenty-minute film that tells their story which you can watch below. In the column on the right are photo albums of each one of our special babies. All you have to do is click on a picture and you'll see the whole album for that cat, along with anecdotes and captions.

The Tale of Oliver & Company: Our Cats on Film

Basic Facts About Oliver & Company

Oliver (aka "The Bunny")
He's the King of the House, and everybody knows it! He heels like a puppy, likes to take rides in the car (he doesn't need a pet carrier), and insists on having his own private can of wet food every afternoon.

Beatrice (aka Pocahontas)
She's the Matriarch, even though she's the smallest cat. Her favorite singer is Brenda Lee, whose music lulls her right off to sleep. To listen to Beatrice's favorite song on YouTube just click here.

Little Joe
He's a very sweet boy who loves to play with strings and should have been named Hoss! His favorite thing in life is lying against the stove hearth and roasting himself when there's a good fire on.

Monika (aka Sugar Lump)
A Calico Maine Coon with a tendancy towards grumpiness. The best way to describe her is through this child's poem: "There was a little girl who had a little curl right in the middle of her forehead. When she was good, she was very, very good, but when she was bad she was horrid."

Olivia (aka The Maw-Maw)
She's the proud mother of eleven of our kittes, seven of whom are still with us and the happiest cat that we have! She's quite fond of wet food, open windows, fresh corn still in the husk and old towels.

Manly (aka Lion Cub)
He's never had a bad thought and is practically perfect in every way. He still likes to think of himself as a kitten and enjoys howling and scratching at the bedroom doors in the middle of the night!

Hugh Maximillian (aka Max)
A big, sweet, adorable little bloke whose favorite thing in life is being held (as you are sitting in a computer chair) and allowed to snuggle in your hair. Max is full of personality and quite irresistible.

Avis (aka Avis-Woozy)
She's a little sweetheart whose favorite pasttime in kittenhood was climbing curtains and walking along the curtain rods. Thankfully, she now enjoys drinking water out of the bathroom sink instead! Her trademark is a little goatee, not to mention that she's a taddy bit cross-eyed.

Iveta (aka Water Nymph)
She lives in the upstairs bathroom and only leaves when she gets sleepy. She lives for water, but it has to come out of the sink in a slow drip. She's really sweet and we're sure that she dreams of visiting Niagara Falls one day!

Aramintie (aka The Mintie-Fish, Maid Mintie, Buff Toes)
She's a bit of a loaner and very non-demanding. She likes to sleep on top of the piano, loves being petted, but doesn't tolerate being held. She has three buff-colored toes on her back foot that are just so cute!

Samwise (aka The Honey-Pot, Sammy, Buster Brown)
He's a special bloke who is so fluffy that he looks like cotton candy. He loves to be loved and brushed, but is scared of life in general. His favorite toys are pipecleaners, which he carries around all over the house!

Frodo
He's the acrobat of the house and certainly amazingly agile. There is no place too high, too far or too small for Frodo to go. He's also the morning greeter who rubs all over your legs until you put down some wet food!

Deanna (aka Little Dee)
Deanna was with us for two short months, but we enjoyed every day with her. She was one of the first three rescue cats that arrived at our house one afternoon and just stayed. Her favorite toy was a piece of dried broom corn.

Sydney
He was Deanna's little brother, we think the runt of the litter. He was so cute that he could melt your heart in one second flat. He was only with us for one month longer than his sister, but he's one of the most unforgettable babies we've been blessed with.

Cadfael (aka Caddy)
Brother to Max, Manly, Avis, Iveta and Aline, he was with us for five months. He was always a little sickly, which made him a "people person" and a real cuddler. He had a favorite stuffed animal; a little white cat named "Little QT".

Aline (aka Aliney-Pooh)
She was sister to Cadfael and the group mentioned above. She was a gorgeous tortie-tabby who was the fastest cat in the house when chasing her favorite toy: a cat laser toy! She was with us for three and a half years and we miss her.
