Nelson Eddy and Jeanette MacDonald, America's Singing Sweethearts, starred together in eight musicals throughout their careers. They were acclaimed as the finest singing team in Hollywood, and many felt that they were the best-matched voices in the world. Remembered for songs like, Ah, Sweet Mystery of Life, Indian Love Call and Will You Remember?, they left behind them a rich legacy of unforgettable melody that is as beautiful today as it was yesterday.

There is a large portion of Jeanette MacDonald & Nelson Eddy fans that fervently believes that they were secretly in love with each other and carrying on an affair throughout their careers. This is completely contrary to what both Nelson & Jeanette maintained in interviews and articles for their whole lives. They continually denied being anything except close friends.

It is very sad that the memory of their work together, music and films, should be contaminated in such a way. Both were married once and remained faithful to their spouses. Neither had any children, which is one of the reasons that it has been so easy for rumors and stories to grow around them. We hope that this site is a fitting tribute to their beautiful work together, not as lovers, but as friends and good performers.
